Research
13 active projects and 23 manuscripts under review — from PTSD and ADHD to MICS data and Rohingya health.
Data 2 Decision (D2D) is a research team working across health, data science and public policy — running weekly sprints from backlog to publication, and turning survey and health data into evidence people can act on.
D2D is led by Principal Investigator Naimul Islam — a data analytics consultant with around 15 years of experience turning complex data into decisions across public health, official statistics, and international development. Currently Data Analytics Consultant for MICS Round 7 at the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (multidimensional poverty measurement and small-area estimation), with recent consulting engagements at the World Bank and FHI 360 (USAID). Previously he led data science for BRAC's health programme, covering 65 million people. He works across R, SQL, Python, Stata, and SPSS, and builds interactive dashboards in R Shiny and Power BI. PMP-certified, with an MS in Statistics (University of Dhaka) and an MPH (BRAC University). He is also permanent faculty at the Canadian University of Bangladesh.
Our work spans mental health, MICS and survey data, maternal and child health, infectious disease, health systems and digital health — with a focus on Bangladesh and low- and middle-income settings.
